Reginald William is an NYC singer/songwriter/artist. This native of the DMV area, came up as an artist and poet under the name ‘rnb’, gracing poetry slam stages like the Nuyorican. ‘rnb’ released his first independent album, ‘The Green Room’, in 2007 - an album that channeled his influence of old-school R&B with songs about love. He’s played and hosted shows at various established NYC venues including Crash Mansion, The FiveSpot, Bowery Poetry Club, The Knitting Factory and even the legendary Blue Note. His attention to lyrical detail and melody help classify him as a progressive neo-soul/ R&B artist. Early credits include being part of the first 125, out of thousands nationwide to successfully make it to LA taping for American Idol Season 1.
‘Being in Like’ is Reginald's long-awaited sophomore album that reinforces the relevance of love songs and feel-good music. He examines the nuances of what it means to uniquely ‘‘like’ vs conventionally ‘love’ and how relationships can benefit from each other ‘Being in Like’. It’s a must hear from this artist whose soul is rooted in heartfelt nostalgia. The album features well known emcees such as MIMS ( This Is Why I’m Hot ) and DMV sensation Substantial.
Reginald William ventured into licensing a few years back. His song “Goodside” served as direct inspiration for the theme song of Centric’s ( BET Her ) According to Him + Her in 2014. In 2017 he landed theme music placement for BET’s 30 Years of Soul Train with his song “When We Fell In Love” from Being In Like. His Title track “Being In Like” more recently won "Honorable Mention" in the "R&B/Hip-Hop" category in the 2017 Unsigned Only Music Competition.
As a music lover and working commercial visual artist ( Creative Director ) for clients such as BET, NBA, Google and Amex, Reginald currently delves into content creation as Writer, Editor and Director.
